Sport & Performance Psychology
Talent might get you noticed—but mindset determines how far you go. Whether you’re an elite athlete, a high school competitor, or a parent watching your child navigate the pressures of travel teams and tryouts, performance isn’t just physical, it’s deeply mental and emotional.

Sport and performance psychology helps athletes develop the mental strength, emotional balance, and resilience needed to perform under pressure and enjoy the process again. When competition starts feeling like stress instead of purpose, it’s time to reset the mind, not just train the body.

I work with athletes, performers, and competitors of all ages who want to build confidence, focus, and composure when it matters most. For youth athletes, this work often includes helping them manage nerves, recover from mistakes, build self-belief, and keep their love for the game alive even as expectations grow.

My approach combines evidence-based psychology with practical performance strategies used by elite athletes, teams, and leaders. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and biofeedback to help athletes strengthen the mind-body connection and perform at their best.

Depending on your goals, we’ll integrate techniques such as:

-
Goal Setting & Mental Planning – Developing clear, measurable performance goals and mental routines to stay focused.
-
Imagery & Visualization – Using mental rehearsal to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and enhance precision under pressure.
-
Pre-Performance Routines – Creating consistent habits before games, practices, or performances to increase focus and composure.
-
Cognitive Restructuring – Identifying and replacing self-defeating thoughts with performance-focused, empowering beliefs.
-
Arousal Regulation – Learning to manage energy, anxiety, and emotions through breathing, grounding, and biofeedback techniques.
-
Mindfulness & Presence Training – Staying grounded in the moment so that pressure doesn’t pull you out of flow.
-
Resilience & Recovery Work – Building mental flexibility to bounce back quickly from setbacks, losses, or injuries.

My goal is to help athletes and performers build not only skill, but identity-based confidence, the kind that’s rooted in who they are, not just how they perform. Because when your identity is steady, your performance follows.
